The Harrison Center for the Arts presents Black and White and Read All Over this December, a color themed group show sponsored by Indy Reads and Urban Times. This Indianapolis art gallery features some of the most cutting edge work from Indianapolis artists. They often team up with Indianapolis nonprofit organizations to enhance Indianapolis culture and create opportunities for the Indianapolis community. Black and White and Read All Over is an annual holiday show. It opens this Friday, December 4 with a reception that is free to all Indianapolis people as part of the Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association (IDADA) First Friday Art Walk. The show will feature the work of more than thirty Indianapolis artists including Teri Barnett, Justin Cooper, Kyle Herrington, Carla Knopp, Elizabeth Guipe Hall, William Denton Ray, Cindy Wingo, and many more. As they focus on the colors black, white and red, they explore the concept of reading in today’s society. Come see each artists unique take on this one of a kind theme.
In Gallery Number Two at the Harrison Center for the Arts check out the Garage Artists Society presentation of The ABC Show. This group of Indianapolis artists have formed a kind of collective. They are composed of Jenny Elkins, Mint Evans, James Kelly and Chris Tower. They each work from their home studios in their garage. Together they meet to explore new techniques and discuss their creative development. This supportive system allows them to keep motivated and inspired. Their new show is sure to impress.
In the Hank and Dolly Gallery at the Harrison Center for the Arts check out the exhibit by VanHoy Pottery. This Hoosier potter makes wares for Indianapolis society. In the Gym of the Harrison Center for the Arts Urban Times will host a neighborhood fair. Learn more about Indianapolis downtown living and talk to Indianapolis people from downtown Indianapolis schools, realtors, Indianapolis businesses and more. Micah Gilliam will perform at 7:00 pm and 8:15 pm.
