So we here at in Indianapolis felt that on top of giving you the best we’ve got when it comes to what’s going on in the Circle City, we will give you a little help in trying to find that perfect gift for the special someone on your list. On December 4, and  the next twenty days we will give you twenty ways to show you truly care. In the true spirit of Hoosier pride, we will try to suggest only that which is home-grown or handmade right here in Indiana.

Day 4- Arts for Young Hearts and Old Farts
Day 5- Better Body Longer Life
Day6- Many a Museum
Day 7- The Village Experience

Day 9- A Gift that takes Center Stage

Today’s suggestion is a two-pronged idea that can aid a giver of any financial means; a bifurcated bevy of holiday joy if you will. The Indianapolis Colts improved to 13-0 today, so not many among us are looking for anything else at the moment. But, if you are more a fan of gift-giving payoffs than Indianapolis sports playoffs, we’ve got you covered.

No matter where you live in our great state of Indiana, this suggestion can work for you. If you are looking to give something that cost you both time and money, think about giving a day trip to someone or someones in your life that could used a mini-vacation. No matter if  you are gifting to stressed-out students, or sleep-deprived parents, Indiana holds the key to a good time.

Plan a simple day trip within our own Hoosier homeland and not only will the receiver be blown away by the time off, but the sincere sentiment you put into planning the little layoff. If they like to blow off steam by shooting craps or busting blackjack dealers, send them for a night’s stay at some of the casino boats of Evansville, IN or Shelbyville, IN.

Have a big sports fan you are looking to appease? Send them north to South Bend, IN. The home of both the College Football Hall of Fame and one of the collegiate sports world giants, University of Notre Dame. If you have a shopaholic on your list, send he or she to the shopping outlets in Edinburgh, IN for a day of retail intense therapy.

Their are so many things to do in Indianapolis and its surrounding cities, that we don’t have enough time to explore them all. The best thing you can do is to visit our Indiana cities page and plan the trip the best suits their needs.

For those among you who don’t have the money to pay for such a day, give them the time to get away. Have a married brother or sister who hasn’t spent a dinner without a child throwing a tantrum since the bundle of joy(s) first entered this world? Or, are you afraid that mommy or daddy might be contemplating taking that bundle of joy out of this world? Give than a day, or even just an evening of free babysitting.

It might not seem like a lot, but you can’t put a price on the gift of peace and quiet. No matter what they end up doing, they will be more thankful for the time off you give them than any present you could wrap up. Plus, if you wait until after Christmas, you get to play with all the new toys given to the little girls and boys while they are away.
