In and around the greater metropolitan area of Indianapolis, there are no fewer than five separate locations of the popular Indianapolis restaurant called Scotty’s Brewhouse: Muncie, Bloomington , West Lafayette, Downtown Indianapolis and northeast Indy.
Founder Scott Wise from Muncie is indeed wise to keep the Brewhouse branches located around the Indiana capital, at least so far. The company’s slogan, however, is “The sky’s the limit,” so Hoosiers can probably expect to see more locations popping up in the future.

The first Scotty’s Brewhouse and Restaurant was opened on the Muncie campus of Ball State University, and became an instant hit with the alumni and other fun-lovers in the area. When you walk in, you’ll notice the warm decor, rife with brick walls and gas-burning lanterns, with handmade oak bar and furniture. Right away, you’ll be distracted by the friendly faces of the staff and the icy drafts they bring you.
When Scotty’s Brewhouse opened its northeast Indianapolis location, they made several additions. This particular site was the first Scotty’s to serve not just beer, but liquor. At the bar in this location of Scotty’s, you’ll find plenty to whet your whistle, including icy martinis that spew from a beer tap dispenser dedicated for the purpose.
The northeast Scotty’s Brewhouse also has a lounge, reminiscent of a trendy club in New York City. Every single booth is equipped with its own flat screen television, supplementing the many other plasmas logistically placed around the rest of the restaurant. The result of all these improvements is what Scotty’s labels its “Fusion Atmosphere.” It’s an attractive blend of burger joint, sports bar, trendy club and kickback neighborhood watering hole.
The menu at Scotty’s Brewhouse and Restaurant is vast and tempting. Definitely try the Midwest tempura-style Dill Chips and Brewhouse Buffalo Wings with your preference of sauces. You might go for the Black & Bleu Steak Salad, the Kitchen Sink Sampler, the Bar-B-Q Quesa-Dea with Cajun chicken and homemade BBQ sauce, the Grilled Tenderloin Scooters or any number of good-looking sandwiches, such as the Turkey Caesar Hoagie or the Sassy Lil Cuban. Scotty’s also has some wonderful choices of steak, seafood, burgers galore and savory chicken dishes.
Scotty’s Brewhouse is famous for their ongoing specials and has won the Best Drinks Specials from Indy’s Nuvo Newspaper and other awards.
