Jabberwocky: A Discussion on Writer’s Block

The indyFringe Building on Mass Ave is committed to bringing you fringe Indianapolis theatre and other “fringey” events all year long. The indyFringe Theatre Festival is not just for summer, great Indianapolis arts events occur in their Indianapolis performing arts venue all year long. This Tuesday, January 12, the indyFringe Building brings you Jabberwocky, a panel of Indianapolis media personalities who are opening up about writers block. Scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm, tickets for this one night only Indianapolis event are $10.00.

Join David Zivan, editor of Indianapolis Monthly magazine as he sits down with The Indianapolis Business Journal’s Lou Harry, Shari Finnel of Indianapolis Woman and Dennis Ryerson of The Indianapolis Star to talk writing. To be specific, to talk writer’s block. These four Indianapolis based writers face the challenges and stress of getting words on paper (or the computer screen, as it may be) every day. Hear them open up about the pressures of meeting deadlines in the fast paced world of Indianapolis news. Discover the twists and turns a story takes before it is even written, and how these writers cope with ever impending writer’s block in their day to day lives.

After they break the ice, share your own struggles to write in the open mic portion of this Indianapolis event. What keeps you from putting ink to page or fingers to keys? How do you get past the brick wall that faces you? Or what questions do you have for the panel on moving past a block on writing? Scheduled in Indianapolis downtown, conviently after work for many, the indyFringe building will have hot homemade soup, bread and a bar available for an additional charge.

Don’t sit in gridlock this Tuesday evening. Grow as a writer at the indyFringe building. Join these Jabbers as they chatter about what it means to break through the noise. This event might just be perfect for those Indianapolis artists working on their indyFringe Theatre Festival submissions now. For more information about Jabberwocky, visit the Indianapolis Fringe Theatre Festival’s official website. Also look for other upcoming events at the indyFringe Building, the latest in Indianapolis performing arts venues.
