Important Indianapolis music facet, the Orkestra Projekt, will give another exciting performance, Perspektive. Vision, this Saturday, January 30 at the Earth House Collective. This Indianapolis music organization offers a different orchestra experience than you find at say the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra or the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. An innovative Indianapolis performing arts group, they always seem to thrill with their concert performances. Tickets for their Saturday, January 30 performance at the Earth House Collective are $19.00 for adults over twenty four, $9.00 for adults ages eighteen to twenty four, $5.00 for students, and Indianapolis kids are admitted for FREE.
Indianapolis music and Indianapolis theatre collide when the Orkestra Projekt takes the stage. This Indianapolis band brings together a variety of Indianapolis artists. With their combined skills, talents and creativity, the Orkestra Projekt creates a concert experience like no other. You have to be there to understand the scope of imagination included in every single performance. Through unconventional mixes of classical music from the obscure to the well known from the old to newly composed, the Orkestra Projekt creates a unique sound.
Unafraid of audience interaction, the Orkestra Projekt utilizes their observers to share dramaturgy about their performance. By relating directly to their audience the Orkestra Projekt shares context about the musical selections and composers, as well as their the musicians individual connections to the piece. In this way, they allow their audience to make connection between the music of the past and the music of today.
This Saturday, January 30 at 7:30 pm, the Earth House Collective (near Mass Ave) sets the stage for their newest performance, Perspektive. Vision. As their second concert event, Perspektive. Vision explores the visual perspective of their musical performance of Modest Mussorgsy’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The piece was written based on specific pictures in the composer’s mind. The Orkestra Projekt hopes to expand the perspective of this arrangement to include the points of view of Indianapolis based artists. Their performance of Pictures will be followed by a composition from Butler University professor Michael Schelle, titled The Midwest Suite. This piece meditates on images from states in the Midwest.
