What started as a side project of popular piano rock group Something Corporate in 2004 turned into a completely different ensemble, one that proved more popular than the Something Corporate ever was, gaining mainstream recognition while retaining McMahon’s original underground success. Jack’s Mannequin released their first album, Everything in Transit, in 2005 to mostly positive reviews, even in Indianapolis media outlets. Shortly prior to the release, however, McMahon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic luekemia (ALL) and had to undergo treatment. The record peaked at #37 on the Billboard charts, McMahon made a full recovery, and the band continued its domination of teenage emotions everywhere.

Currently, Jack’s Mannequin is working on a third full-length record, to be released sometime in 2010. Besides Indianapolis, the band is also making stops in Seattle, Salt Lake City, Spokane, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Toronto on its current tour of the United States and Canada.
