Don’t Miss a Winter Picnic Along the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail

The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail is currently hosting their fifth annual Winter in the Uplands event with an exciting new picnic theme. Due to the extreme popularity of this fun-filled event, the dates have been extended through February 28. So don’t miss your chance to observe the frosty winter beauty of the Hoosier state while enjoying a variety of rich, warm Indiana wines.

Your adventure will begin with the purchase of your Uplands trail ticket, which will allow you entry and samplings at each of the nine wineries that line this scenic trail through the Midwestern countryside. As you explore each winery and taste the various varieties of specialty vino, you’ll also begin gearing up for spring with the traveling picnic the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail has prepared for you.

As you arrive at your first destination, you’ll be provided with an embroidered backpack just waiting to be stuffed with outdoor dining essentials. At each subsequent visit to the best wineries Indiana has to offer, you’ll receive more gifts to fill your pack. Some highlights include a three-piece flatware set for four; coordinating plates and napkins; an elegant quartet of acrylic wine glasses; a cheese knife, a corkscrew set; and a hardwood cutting board.

With each stop along the trail, make sure to savor the local varieties of wine, cheese, and chocolates as your explore the grounds and gift shops of some of the state’s finest wineries. And don’t forget to pick up your complimentary Wine Trail passport. With this passport, you’ll receive a limited edition blanket with the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail logo as a gift for completing the trail.

In addition, each person who participates in the passport program will be entered into a grand prize drawing for free tickets to the Vintage Indiana Food and Wine Festival, held each spring in downtown Indianapolis in Military Park. This favorite Indianapolis event brings together more than 25 wineries from all over Indiana to celebrate spring and Indy’s wine culture.
