This weekend the Indiana State Fairgrounds hosts the Annual Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo and the Annual Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show. These perfectly matched Indianapolis events are perfect for the sportsman (or woman) in your family. Don’t miss the action at the Indiana State Fairgrounds this weekend.
13th Annual Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo
Indiana sportsmen (and women) will love the Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo. This Indianapolis event features a range of activities, demonstrations and information to kick your next sporting expedition into high gear. From the Waterfowl Calling Championship to the “Ask the Pros” audience driven seminar and more, the 13th Annual Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo has got it all.
The Indiana Waterfowl Calling Championship will feature competitions for both duck and goose calling. The Indiana Sanctioned Duck Calling Championship and the Junior Duck Calling Contest begin on Saturday, while the Indiana State Goose Calling Contest takes place on Sunday. Registration for all contests will remain open until twenty minutes prior to the competition’s start.
The Hunting Camp “Ask the Pros” seminar is a new innovation in seminar technique. The topics are unassigned. The biggest names in the business will be lead in a panel by moderator Dave Foster, as the audience decides (via their own questions) what the conversation will be about. Get the discussion rolling with your questions.
In addition to this, Gun Dog Demonstrations will be happening throughout the Expo. Dog trainers from the Indiana Retriever Club and the Indiana German Short hair Club will work their dogs in style. On top of this, check out the Gene Hopkins Collection of Archery History and the indoor archery range. With more than 40 years of hunting experience and over 100 big game animals under his belt, Hopkins has perhaps one of the biggest collections of archery relics ever. Check it out, then try your hand at the indoor archery range with new inspiration.
If you have got a deer rack at home, bring it in to be officially scored by the I.D.H.A. For the small fee of $10.00 see how your rank among other attendees. Then compare your deer head to some of the largest recorded in Indiana at the “Legends of Indiana.” All this plus a 3D Bowhunter Challenge, Indiana Hunter Education more than 100 exhibitors.
Tickets to this Indianapolis sports event for adults and seniors are $10.00 in advance (available at Marsh through Thursday, February 18, 2010) and $12.00 at the door for adults, $11.00 for seniors. Tickets for Indianapolis kids, ages six to twelve, are $8.00. Kids under five are admitted for FREE. Tickets for both days of the event are available for $20.00.

Back by popular demand this year is Dock Dogs. This dog on dog competition combines doggy diving and doggy long jump to see which of man’s best friends has the most power. Learn about the Kayak in all its glory as experts share the secrets to success in kayak fishing.
