Shoemaker was first recognized as a comedic talent in the Philadelphia law firm for which he was a clerk. After hours, days and months of making his coworkers chuckle at this spot-on impressions, he finally realized comedy, not law, was his real industry. He has worked in film, television and radio as both writer and actor. He even authored two children’s books.
Shoemaker has appeared on the silver screen with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Patrick Stewart in Safe House, Daryl Hannah in Dark Honeymoon and his own film The Lovemaster with Farrah Fawcett. He won the title of Comedian of the Year from ABC’s American Comedy Awards and his Comedy Central special was voted one of the network’s “Top 20” of all time.
Shoemaker has won countless awards for his achievements as both writer, actor and comedian including two EMMY awards, Best Comedian on XM radio, the Communicator Award, Elevate Film Festival’s Best Supporting Actor, Best Film at the L.A. Film Festival and the Toastmaster’s Award. He has written several screenplays including Totally Baked, which he wrote, produced and starred in, and ABC’s Just the Ten of Us and Real Funny. In addition he wrote the critically acclaimed Who’s Your Daddy?, which he performed at the Coronet Theatre.

In addition to all this, Shoemaker was honored with an invitation to host the twentieth anniversary of Comic Relief alongside Wayne Brady in 2006, to benefit New Orleans. Currently, Shoemaker is producing and writing a documentary film called Live to Laugh in collaboration with Mark Harris (Crash, Gods and Monsters) and Dr. Michael Beckwith (The Secret, Oprah).
