Ralph Harris made his feature film debut in the smash hit Dreamgirls. With the integral part of the Detriot MC that introduced Jamie Foxx to the Dreamettes, Ralph had the opportunity to share the screen with some of the biggest names in show business. He “recalls with special fondness the nearly fifty takes needed to perfect his character’s gentle caress of Beyonce Knowles well known bootylicious behind.” But as he says, “who’s counting?”
He quickly made the leap into another role in the feature film Evan Almighty starring Steve Carell and Wanda Skyes. His work on the silver screens comes after years of success in television. You may recognize him from numerous roles on sitcoms such as “Seinfeld,” “Parenthood,” “Nick Freno,” “Living Single” and “In Living Color.” He has also made numerous appearances on late night television including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brein.” He starred in his very own sitcom on ABC’s popular Friday night block TGIF called “On Our Own,” which currently runs in syndication.
In addition, Ralph Harris starred in two comedy specials, one for “Comedy Central Presents” and one for “HBO Half Hour Comedy Special.” When not busy filming, Harris tours the country playing his stand up to sold out audiences. His comedy is self described as “character driven” taking influence from comedy greats like Bill Cosby and Jonathan Winters. He has an incredibly smooth stage presence, putting his audience at ease as he speaks to universal human truths.
