The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis even helped in the development of the Muncie Children’s Museum, which premiered exhibits in 1977.
One popular exhibit at the museum is a model train set that travels through a miniature model of Muncie. Kids can also meet and greet with Desi, Lucy and Maze, the three snakes that live at the museum. The Bat Cave allows children to get up close to some creepy-crawlers, while also learning about the development of many Indiana caves. Water Works is a fun and interactive exhibit that demonstrates the power of water with squirt guns and moving targets to shoot. The Ant Wall is an exhibit that makes kids think outside the box, as they pretend to actually be ants in a colony.
Hoosiers of all ages can enjoy the exhibits, and the museum even offers volunteer opportunities for teenagers. The Muncie Children’s Museum hosts Spring Break programming, birthday parties and family fun nights.
