Mike Armstrong was raised in a small, conservative town outside of Louisville, Kentucky. After trying his hand on the police force, Armstrong soon learned the profession was not for him. As the kind of cop everyone wants to meet, Mike admits, “I’d stop cars and warn the speeding drivers about the speed traps up ahead.” Though his job on the force did not work out for him, it gave him plenty of material to draw on in his stand up routine.
With five children under his care, Mike happily enjoys seeing his kids mirror his attempts to get attention. He proudly tells the story of his son Christopher whose teacher asked one day, “Is that a lucky rabbit’s foot?” To which Chris responded, “It was the only thing left in the trap. . . pretty lucky, huh?”
You may recognize Mike Armstrong from his multiple film and television appearances. He has been featured in the Tom Hanks/ Geena Davis film A League of Their Own, in addition to features on NBC, FOX, Comedy Central, TNN and Comic View. He has also been heard on “The Bob and Tom Show” (heard in Indy on WFBQ). In addition, he has had national commercial campaigns for Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut and more.
