Kevin Hart grew up in the great tradition of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While working as a shoe salesman, Hart entered into a few area comedy contests. After discovering that he was hands down the funniest man in Philadelphia, he quit his job at the shoe store to pursue a bigger dream: Comedy. Hart traveled the United States on the stand up comedy circuit, playing clubs like the Boston Comedy Club, Caroline’s, Stand Up NY, The Improv, The Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store. His performance at the Montreal Comedy Festival lead to his first big break, the feature film Paper Soldiers.

A role in the film Paper Soldiers propelled Hart into the minds of studio executives across the city. He has performed opposite some of the biggest names in comedic film in projects like Scary Movie 3, Along Came Polly, Soul Plane, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Scary Movie 4, Fool’s Gold, Superhero Movie, Extreme Movie, Meet Dave, Not Easily Broken and Death at a Funeral.

In 2004, he worked as writer, co-executive producer and star of the ABC sitcom The Big House. The show was based on his family in Philadelphia. Though this foray into television was short, it was not his last. He has his own half hour comedy special, which airs on Comedy Central. He has appeared on Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N’ Out, Undeclared and worked on a pilot called Class of ’06.
