The Good, the Bad and the Raggedy takes patrons on a wild adventure through the walls, and even outside, of the Indiana State Museum. Travel through the Ancient Seas exhibit to learn the changing face to the earth. In the Birth of Earth exhibit, start at the very beginning of the Indiana story, before Indiana even existed. Learn about the geological origins of the Hoosier state. In Crossroads of America, travel back in time to learn about the power for the vote, before it was afforded to everyone and lobbied for by minority groups like women and African Americans.
In Enterprise Indiana, learn about the products and industry that shaped Indiana’s economy from 1920 to 1950. From the advent of the assembly line to the mass production of farm products, learn about the shifting nature of the Hoosier lifestyle. Global Indiana gives insight into the changing global nature of the world, the advent of radio and television and how Indiana became more tightly bound to our international brethren. The Age of Ice decodes Indiana weather from the Ice Age to current weather patterns and the connection between the two.
The Hoosier Way depicts the transportation history of our fair state. How did Hoosiers get where they were going; what was it like to live during the establishment of a national road system? The first inhabitants of Indiana offer in depth perspective on the land in The Native Americans. Learn about these early Hoosiers. Finally, the Nineteenth State shares a time when Indiana was considered part of the wild, wild west and on its way to statehood.
