Alex Cole, like many other entertainers, was born to perform. His earliest memory of performing in front of a large crowd dates back to when Cole was just three years old. As he stood on the top of his fathers tavern bar singing, “He’s a Scandinavian hot shot, he’s a polecat from Duluth,” the crowd leapt to their feet in ovation and Cole was awarded a bright, shiny nickel for his efforts. Ever since then, Alex Cole has possessed the ability to connect with an audience on a personal level, which allows him to weasel his way into their hearts through laughter.
His infectious connection with audiences has made him an incredible storyteller and comedian. He models his acts after the mesmerizing style of comedians like Bill Cosby and George Carlin, at the same time showcasing his own unique and natural talents on stage, film and television. Equipped with a lifetime of experience and a love of show business, Alex Cole wowing fans across the United States.
Alex Cole as been working in television, film and on stage since 1978. Beginning as a stand up comedian, Cole traversed the country headlining comedy clubs across the nation. In 1988, he was named the Comedy Entertainer of the Year by the National Association of Campus Activities, having become a huge hit on college and university campuses. His first big break came in 1984, when he starred in the independent film Purple Haze. Since then he has had major roles in five feature films including The Toilers and Wayfarers, McHale’s Navy, Mulligan, Two Harbors and The Last Word.

For two seasons (1992 to 1994), Cole played a recurring role on the hit ABC television show Roseanne. In 2000, he secured a principal role in UPN’s Arrest and Trial. In addition to his sitcom work, you may recognize Alex Cole from two national commercial campaigns for Subway and for Motorola.
Cole is no stranger to the limelight, having taken some of his most challenging and best roles at regional theatres across the country. He has starred in plays such as Odysseus, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Basil, Glengarry Glen Ross, Talk Radio, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Project 891 and A Few Good Men. On top of this he released an album of original compositions called True Songs by Alex Cole.
With a home base in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cole has been part of some of the most funny nights in comedy in the Midwest including “The shitty Things We’ve Done” with Colleen Kruse and “So, You’re the Opening Act?” In addition he performed in “Comedy in the Key of C” at the Hollywood Court Theatre in California. Alex Cole also had his very own radio show in Minneapolis on KFAN called “Common and the Family Cole.”
