What’s blonde and pink and touring all over? Legally Blonde: The Musical, of course! Legally Blonde: The Musical comes to Indianapolis theatre at Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University Tuesday, May 4 through Sunday, May 9. Elle Woods has made the transformation from the screen to the stage in a fluffy fun show perfect for a girl’s night out. Don’t miss this Indianapolis performing arts event all week at Clowes Memorial Hall.
Watch as sorority girl Elle Woods takes on the hard nosed, dull colored world of Harvard Law. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” Elle Woods takes a long hard look in the mirror. After deciding that her hair and makeup are both perfect, she puts down her credit cards and love of shopping for a set of law books, going where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Faced with drably dressed “serious” people who don’t take her seriously and with her pet chihuahua Bruiser at her side, Elle Woods intends to prove that she doesn’t take “no” for an answer.
Along the way, she makes plenty of friends and enemies. But discovers the most important lesson of all: being true to yourself never goes out of style. Filled to the brim with show stopping songs and dances, Legally Blonde: The Musical offers a fun evening out at the theatre. Created by a dean’s list of top of their class Broadway talent, Legally Blonde: The Musical was born from Broadway’s best including director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray), composer and lyricist Laurence O’Keefe (Batboy) and Nell Benjamin (Sarah, Plain and Tall), book writer Heater Hach (Freaky Friday) and scenic designer David Rockwell (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels).
Travel from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway’s brightest new star. Fans of the MTV Reality series “Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods” will recognize some familiar faces on stage. Of course the leading lady, Elle Woods, is being played by Becky Gulsvig, a fan favorite who played the role of Leilani in MTV’s production of “Legally Blonde The Musical.” Rounding out the cast are contestants Tiffany Engen and Rhiannon Hansen.
Don’t miss the show that The New York Times Magazine called a “feel good song and dance juggernaut.” Time Magazine says that Legally Blonde: The Musical is “an Elle of a show,” while WOR NewsTalk Radio called it “the best new musical around.” Playing Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University north of Indianapolis downtown now through Sunday, May 9, Legally Blonde: The Musical promises to be a energizing evening out. Tickets to this Indianapolis art event range from $22.00 to $72.00.
