The Indiana Historical Society is a respected Indianapolis nonprofit organization that offers fun Indianapolis events and Indianapolis museum exhibits throughout the year. This summer the Indiana Historical Society heats up with Concerts on the Canal in Indianapolis downtown, a relaxing Indianapolis music experience. Starting Thursday, May 27 and going through Thursday, August 26, the Indianapolis Canal Walk will be filled with the sweet sounds of music every Thursday this season. Head to the Indiana History Center for this funky and fun Indianapolis arts events to enjoy the soothing sounds of talented Indianapolis bands and musicians.
Each summer the Indiana History Center plays host to crowds of Indianapolis people for their Thursday night Concerts on the Canal series. This year, its back and better than ever with a wide range of talents offering a different genre of music each week. The Kruse Family Stardust Terrace at the Indiana History Center will be filled with tables of Indianapolis society as they mix and mingle to in a relaxing atmosphere. A spectacular line up of musicians include the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra, Cool City Swing with Shannon Forsell and Jimmy Guilford, Cathy Morris, Tad Robinson and Tom Wright.
Come for dinner or just to enjoy the music. An outdoor grill and cash bar will be feeding hungry Hoosiers each Thursday. Indianapolis restaurant, Hoaglin To Go, provides Antipasto and Greek hors d’oeuvres plats for four to eight people that can be pre-ordered up to a week in advance. Tables are available for purchase at varying rates: $45.00 for 8 nonmembers, $40.00 for members, half-tables for $35.00 and $30.00 (depending on membership status) and single seats at community tables for $8.00 and $7.00. As always, FREE seating is available on the Canal Walk area. Indianapolis people are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks.
