This week Crackers Comedy Club in Broad Ripple welcomes Josh Sneed to the stage, a Midwest man hoping to crack a few smile on the faces of Indianapolis people. He takes the stage at the Broad Ripple Crackers now through June 5. Tickets to this Indianapolis event are between $10.00 and $20.00. Show times are as early as 8:00 pm to as late as 10:30 pm.
Josh Sneed knows what it is like in the corporate world; he got his start there. When he quit his comfy day job at Proctor and Gamble, friends and family thought he was nuts. Little did they know, he actually is, making him a perfect match for the world of comedy. Since his debut as a stand up comic, Sneed as quickly climbed to the middle, with plenty of upward momentum left. He is one of the top young comics in the business, all because he wasn’t afraid to follow his passion for making people laugh.
Sneed has opened for a list of famous stand up artists that reads like a who’s who of comedy including Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, Lewis Black, Ron White, Mitch Hedberg, Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Larry The Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, Jim Norton and Louis C. K. In 2008, he proved himself to be a top notch comedian, finishing second out of 100 of Comedy’s Central’s top comedians in its Annual Stand Up Showdown. The top finish earned him a record deal for a new album on Comedy Central Records, which was released in September of 2008 to rave reviews. In fact, iTunes selected his as one of the top comedy albums released in 2008.
Sneed is no stranger to competition. In 2006 he placed sixth in the Sierra Mist/ MySpace Stand Up or Sit Down Challenge. Beating out over two thousand other comics. Plus in the 4th grade, he claims to have won a blue ribbon for throwing a softball through a tire. In addition to proving himself better than others in competitive formats, Sneed has also filmed a 30 minute stand up special, Comedy Central Presents.

In 2004, he was one of the “New Faces of Comedy” at the Just For Laugh’s Montreal Comedy Festival. Just three years later, Comedy Central invited him to perform at the inaugural South Beach Comedy Festival. Later, his performance at the Aspen Comedy Festival turned out to be an experience for which Punchline magazine afforded him great praise. Josh Sneed as crossed the United States playing theatres and other comedy venues as an opening act for various members of “The Blue Collar Comedy Tour.” In addition, he is a regular on “The Bob and Tom Show,” heard in Indianapolis media on WFBQ.
