The Italian Heritage Society of Indiana is dedicated to preserving Italian culture in the Midwest. As the United States melting pot heats up, many groups find it important and fun to keep their ancestry alive through cultural practices. June 11 and 12 marks the Annual Italian Street Festival produced by the Italian Heritage Society of Indiana on North Meridian Street of Indianapolis downtown. Held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Italian Street Festival offers the finest Italian food, music, dance and culture in a fun two day event. Join the Italian Heritage Society of Indiana as they celebrate their Italian heritage.
The Italian Street Festival features more than twenty five different Italian meats, pastas, salads and desserts. With live music, dancing and games, there is fun for the whole family at this Indianapolis event. The corner of East Street and Stevens Street in Indianapolis downtown is transformed each year for two days into a Little Italy of sorts. Bring your Indianapolis kids to introduce them to some of the most delectable cultural food in the Circle City this weekend.
Don’t miss this exciting Indianapolis festival, which shares an unsung part of Indianapolis history. The Italian Street Festival is FREE to Indianapolis people, but bring plenty of cash to take advantage of the sweet and savory treats on hand. After the Italian Street Festival, treat yourself to a cocktail at any of these refreshing Indianapolis bars.
