Southern Voice is Tim McGraw’s tenth studio album. With a career that spans two decades, McGraw has not only climbed to the top of the Country Music industry, he is also one half of Country Music’s biggest celebrity couple. His marriage to country singer Faith Hill certified both artists as country music royalty. Now this king of country music is crossing the United States, sharing his passion for music. “For me,” says McGraw, “making a record isn’t just going in and having fun. It’s going in and digging and digging and trying to get what’s inside of me out, and never quite getting there. And that’s what keeps you going back and trying again.”
If fans had there way, McGraw would never stop going back, except for when he brings his music out to the entire country. Each of McGraw’s albums debuted at Number One on Billboard album charts. With twenty one singles to hit Number One ON the Billboard Hot Country 100 chart and three singles earning country song of the year, McGraw’s passion for music has served him well. This highly decorated artist has an awards cabinet packed full of three Grammy’s, fourteen Academy of Country Music awards, eleven Country Music Association awards, ten American Music Awards and three People’s Choice Awards. His Soul2Soul II Tour, with wife Faith Hill, goes down in history as the highest grossing tour in country music history and as one of the top five among all genres of music.
A man of many talents, McGraw’s success extends well beyond the boundaries of the music industry. He has tackled supporting roles in a number of feature films including the Academy Award winning film The Blind Side, Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom, Four Christmases and Flicka. Proving that he can create successfully with feet in two different worlds, The Blind Side features Tim McGraw’s hit song “Southern Voice,” which played during the closing credits of the film.

The latest album and tour, Southern Voice, reflects McGraw’s strong sense of maturity meditating on issues that range from aging and mortality to relationships between parents and children. “These things are part of my life, and they get a little more in depth the older I get,” says McGraw, “Both of my fathers are dead now. Some things hit a little harder than if they were still around, but it can also make you a little softer in some ways, too.”
Southern Voice isn’t all seriousness, however. With songs like “It’s a Business Doing Pleasure With You,” McGraw shares a cranked up lament about the financial tolls of romance. With a strong basis in rock, Southern Voice reflects influences on McGraw like the Allman Brother and Tom Petty. The Southern Voice Tour will features songs from McGraw’s newest album, in addition to fan favorites from the past twenty years.
