The Famous Monsters Convention descends on the Wyndham Indianapolis West July 9 to 11, celebrating the horror genre and culture. With special guests, musical acts, contests, film screenings, monstrous parties, panels and more, this flagship Indianapolis event marks the first of hopefully many more Famous Monsters Convention in Indianapolis.
Created by the same people who brought you Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine, the Famous Monsters Convention brings together all elements of the fan publication at one awesomely tangible event. In fact the Famous Monsters Convention is set as the official launch date for the release of the historical Famous Monsters of Filmland Issue #251. The collectible magazine will premiere at the convention to die hard fans, who may be able to get their hands on initial printings.
Thomas Jane (The Mist, Punisher), William Forsythe, Derek Mears and other cast members from this Summer’s 20th Century Fox release Predators: a Night of the Living Dead are slated to attend the first ever Famous Monsters Convention. In addition, a reunion of the Nightmare on Elm Street series cast mates like Heather Langenkamp and Mark Patton are on the line up of guests. Horror legends Tom Savini, Bill Moseley and Herschell Gordon Lewis round out the guest list to celebrate the memorable Famous Monsters launch. Other guests include Billy Drago (The Hills Have Eyes, The Untouchables), Basil Gogos, Mike Garris (The Shining, Sleepwalkers) and William Stout (Men in Black).
The list of stars goes on and on and includes Bridget Marquardt from The Girls Next Door with Kevin Burns and her hubby Nicholas Carpenter. Plus Rupert Boneham of Survivor and the creators of the web phenomenon “Ain’t It Cool News.” Literally dozens of stars from feature horror flicks and B movie reels will be on hand to mix and mingle with fans, sign autographs, answer questions and more.
Also on tap for entertainment at the first annual Famous Monsters Convention a beauty contest and a tattoo contest. With a beauty parade and prizes for various categories of tattoos including black and white horror sleeve, color horror sleeve, black and white horror leg, color horror leg, black and white horror back piece and color horror back piece, there are plenty of opportunities to win.
