Located at 701 Broad Ripple Avenue in beautiful Broad Ripple Village, Barley Island Restaurant and Brewhouse opened their doors in November of 2009. It is the second location in the Indy area, with the original restaurant in Noblesville, Indiana. Featuring a menu with a variety of pub fare that includes Indiana raised premium aged beef hamburgers and vegetarian offerings, Barley Island is a great place to enjoy a tasty meal, and premium craft brew:
There’s plenty of spacious seating indoors
And the bar features local Indianapolis music acts on a weekly basis
While not spacious, the outdoor patio is a perfect place to people watch
While Barley Island features as many beers on tap as any Indianapolis bar…
Their specialty is the premium craft beers that are brewed at the Barley Island Brewery in Noblesville.
I started my meal off with the BarFly IPA, a deliciously hoppy Indian Pale Ale
As for my food, I had a Southwestern Chicken Wrap. With spicy grilled chicken, mixed greens, tomatoes, cheese, jalapenos, and some chipotle ranch, it was the perfect combination of heat and flavor.
Yep, it was as good as it looks.
