The Marion County Fair takes over the Marion County Fairgrounds July 22 to 31, offering Indianapolis people a pre-state-fair warm up. With an entire week of entertainment, competition and great food, the Marion County Fair is a great deal. Admission is just $5.00 per person. Indianapolis kids five and under and military personal are admitted for FREE, and parking is FREE. Purchase a season pass, for entry all week long, for only $25.00 per person. Don’t miss the stars of the Marion County Fair, serving up heaping portions of Summer fun.

The Marion County Fair was established in 1930 and celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Originally a street fair in New Bethel or Wannamaker, the modern Marion Country Fair has grown exponentially since its flagship festival. Following several moves in the Wannamaker area, it was relocated to 123 acres of land at Troy Avenue and Fisher Road. Today seventeen permanent buildings house the fair each year, and keep the ground going for Indianapolis events year long.

As part of the Marion County Agricultural and 4-H Club Fair Association, the Marion County Fair endeavors to preserve the agricultural heritage of Marion Country while celebrating and promoting positive family values, fostering Indianapolis community partnerships and promoting cultural understanding in an ever changing urban environment. Now the time has come to open up the Marion County Fair once more, showcasing 4-H and youth development opportunities that will result in a vibrant, cohesive community.

With a fantastic midway, full of games and rides, dozens of contests, showcases of prize plants and animals, the Marion County Fair offers well rounded fun. Read on for a day by day preview of what’s happening at this year’s Marion County Fair. This is an Indianapolis festival and fair that no Indianapolis based Hoosier will want to miss.
