Its almost time for my favorite Indianapolis festival: the IndyFringe Theatre Festival in Indianapolis downtown. This week long Indianapolis arts celebration showcases the best of Indianapolis community talent, as well as bringing in fabulous touring fringe shows from across the United States and around the world. All this at a reasonable price to boot! How do they do it? The short answer: with support from Indianapolis people like you who attend Indianapolis performing arts events year round and even prioritize fundraisers. The IndyFringe Theatre Festival presents its annual fundraiser The Longest Dinner Thursday, July 29 at 6:00 pm in Indianapolis downtown at the IndyFringe building. $55.00 buys you a seat at this three course feast with cash bar and an exclusive look at whats happening in the 2010 IndyFringe Theatre Festival.
Experience a truly unique dining experience at one of the longest tables in Indianapolis! Taste three courses of delectable food, prepared slow food style and paired with an eclectic Fringe performance. Be a part of the 2010 IndyFringe Theatre Festival program launch as you see it first at The Longest Dinner outside of the IndyFringe building. Located in the Indianapolis cultural district, Mass Ave, the IndyFringe building presents this dinner in the heart of Indianapolis arts.
Prepared with local ingredients and buy local chefs, The Longest Dinner is the closest Indianapolis people can get to participating in feast comparable to the WFYI series The Endless Feast. This exclusive event offers a taste of the freshest heartland grown foods prepared with by a divine chef. The slow food movement is all about taking in your prize cuisine one slow bite at a time. From growing to harvesting to cooking to consuming, slow food breaks away from the fast paced nature of our modern world.
One IndyFringe volunteer has been cultivating this dinner all Spring and Summer long preparing for a slow food feast. Late in July they harvested the feast, and now chefs are dutifully preparing for the big day this Thursday, July 29. Early reservations to this Indianapolis event are essential. A portion of the proceeds will be shared with Slow Food Indy, a local chapter of Slow Food USA dedicated to spreading the word about growing your own veggies and buying local produce.
Don’t miss the annual fundraiser for the IndyFringe Theatre Festival as they head into the final weeks of preparation for the big festival event at the end of August. As Mass Ave comes to life with the thrills of theatre and live audiences, the entire atmosphere of Indianapolis downtown seems to change. Be part of something big in Indianapolis theatre. Support IndyFringe’s fun fundraiser. Tickets are $55.00 for a very good cause and a delectable three course meal! Stick around for an after party inside the Indyfringe building with more unforgettable entertainment.
After the fun of The Longest Dinner, enjoy a night cap at any of these Indianapolis restaurants or Indianapolis bars.
