Big doin’s at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis during September. Especially the children in Indianapolis won’t want to miss their last chance to rock out at the Rock Stars, Cars and Guitars exhibit, which closes Sunday, September 12, 2009. Their Indianapolis parents and grandparents should really tag along, too, since the whole shebang is in honor of the great musicians of the ’60s and their innovative music that changed, well, pretty much everything.
The Indianapolis Children’s Museum has gathered an impressive collection of rock memorabilia to go in their show. You’ll find Elvis’ Harley motorcycle and his tiger jumpsuit there, for example, Roy Orbison’s red Corvette and lots of famous guitars autographed by their famous rock star owners.
A very cool interactive section of the exhibit features a real recording studio for budding vocalists. Another station allows you to design your own record cover album.
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is one of the major Indianapolis attractions, renowned among Hoosiers and out-of-state tourists alike. Nicely located in the downtown Indianapolis sector, this fun place draws visitors of all ages from all over Indiana and the United States throughout the year.
