Theatre on the Square, a major venue among Indianapolis theatres and performing arts venues, has opened its 2010/2011 season of ten premiere comedies with …And Then There Was Was Nun! A hilarious parody of Agatha Christie’s Ten Little Indians featuring the Sisters of San Andreas who are a collection of very familiar faces. Sisters Bette Davis (Ron Spencer), Gloria Swanson (Vonda Fuhrmann), Marilyn Monroe (Nathalie Cruz), Judy Garland (Dannon Crews), Joan Crawford (Carrie Bennett Fedor), Katherine Hepburn (Rachel Godollei-Johnson), Vivian Leigh (Theresa Koleszar), Hattie McDaniel (Rashida Walker), Mae West (Jeffrey R. Reeves) , Tallulah Bankhead (Carl Cooper) and Sister Alfred Hitchcock (Michael J. Ferruzza) have all been summoned by Mother Paramount, whose identity is unknown, to a retreat in a secluded mansion on Grauman’s Chinese Island where one by one they are killed off in hilarious fashion until we learn whodunit!
The two act farce by Bruce W. Gilray and Richard T. Witter is directed by Spencer, who also co-designed the Art Deco Mansion setting with Technical Director Jim Trofatter. The lush black and white costuming is by Landes Costumes by Rachel.
