Each year, musicians, dancers, actors and performers of every ilk gather at downtown Indianapolis‘ famous Monument Circle to show the world that Indianapolis has talent, and lots of it. The purpose, of course, is to audition for the year’s most sparkly event in Indianapolis, the annual Circle of Lights.
The 2010 auditions were scheduled for Thursday, September 30 and Saturday, October 9, so there’s still one more chance to audition for this year’s Circle of Lights extravaganza. Amazing, isn’t it, that it’s that time again already? One reason it creeps up so fast is that the Circle of Lights always starts right after Thanksgiving. The happening centers around the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the heart of the Circle City. This 285-foot behemoth is decorated with some 5,000 lights, and provide a focal point to the always-lovely Indianapolis skyline that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
Entertainment during this holiday Indianapolis event, which lasts into the beginning of the new year, is highly varied and always vied over by Indianapolis musicians and other performers from Indy and neighboring cities in Indiana. The whole affair is televised, which gives those who audition and win a spot a potentially enormous audience to dazzle.

This year sees the 48th presentation of the annual Circle of Lights event in downtown Indianapolis, beginning on Friday, November 27, 2010. Vocal acts from solos to show choirs and dance troupes are especially sought-after by event organizers.
