Why Torture Is Wrong…And the People Who Love Them: 2011 Theatre Offering from TOS

JAN. 7, 8 AND 9 PERFORMANCES CANCELED DUE TO SURGERY

Indianapolis‘ famous Theatre on the Square, run by the whackily talented folks who brought you shows like The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Jewtopia, and Spring Cleaning in the recent past, are beside themselves to bring you Why Torture Is Wrong…And the People Who Love Them, just in time to start the new year right in Indy. The play is an irresistibly and irreverently funny satire guaranteed to make its audience laugh in politically incorrect moments, and feel good about themselves when they do.

Centered around a ditzy female protagonist, Why Torture Is Wrong is about Felicity, who finds herself in a sudden web of crises. Could her brand new husband be a terrorist or simply nuts? Could her father by some sort of fiendish spy, or does he actually like collecting butterflies? Why in the world does her mom love the theatre so much?

This year, TOTS, one of the premier venues for Indianapolis performing arts and Indiana theatre in general, invites you to say What the heck, and throw back your head and laugh till it hurts. A black comedy with the emphasis on comedy, Why Torture Is Wrong…And the People Who Love Them will free its viewers from preconceived PC notions and and have them happily going along for the ride from the opening curtain.

If laughter is truly the best medicine, then citizens of the United States‘ growing insecurity about Homeland security never looked so healthy.
