Doug Arnholter | Artist, Global Motivator and Renaissance Man

He describes himself pithily as “a creative human being.” Once a Fortune 500 exec, Doug Arnholter is now a working artist in Indianapolis and a versatile contributor to the Indianapolis art scene in general.

A modern-day Renaissance man, Doug is also a serious entrepreneur, interior designer and musician. Co-owner of a virtual Indianapolis business called “Broad Ripple Art & Design,” Doug Arnholter also divides his time there with his ongoing global art project called “Mural of the World.”

This is an interesting philanthropic endeavor which invites creative people across the world to participate with their own photo representing an organization or community. Photo contributions eventually become part of the traveling Mural of the World, pictured above.

Doug Arnholter, the artist, applies his knowledge and understanding of art to all aspects of his work and life in a fluid and endlessly engaging manner. Viewing a collection of his work, one is just as apt to come upon an amusing wire sculpture, an unassuming abstract or an enormous water fountain, complete with surrounding landscaping.

Doug works with virtually all available media, from oils and acrylics to frescoes on wood and pretty much anything in between. Heavy on the abstract and with a pervasive design influence, his art has been commissioned by a long list of impressive clients, including Eli Lily and Wellpoint in Indianapolis, as well as several other companies outside of Indiana, such as the Hyatt Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, Novartis in New York, New York and the Government Center of Barbados.

Many private collections, homes and businesses have been adorned by Doug Arnholter‘s work, be it on canvas or as a conception in space. This unusually creative human being has artistically carved himself a permanent, highly-respected niche in the Indianapolis art community and beyond.
