Created by the Humane Society of Indianapolis, the Mutt Strut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is an opportunity for Hoosiers to show their support for and love of our furry friends. Join your fellow animal lovers Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the 8th Annual Mutt Strut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
As Indiana’s largest pet walk and one of the largest dog-walking events in the world! Bring your pooch and come party with other Indianapolis people. This Indianapolis thing to do is great for Indianapolis kids and open to pet lovers of all kind (with our without a dog). The walk is 2.5 miles around the infamous oval of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Kick of the Mutt Strut with an opening presentation featuring the Head Coach of the Butler University Men’s Basketball Team, who returned from their second trip in two years to the NCAA Championship. Get a picture with Butler University’s mascot, Butler Blue II, one of the most famous pooches in sports. Also on the podium will be Sarah Fisher, owner of the celebrated Sarah Fisher Racing, LLC, Kalen Isray (Vice President of the Indianapolis Colts), Eva Pilgrim (local morning news anchor on WXIN Fox 59) and Indianapolis music’s Jennie DeVoe, who will sing the national anthem.
This Indianapolis event is a fundraiser for the Indianapolis not for profit organization: the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Pre-registration is $30 for people ages 16 and older, $20 for ages 8 to 15 and FREE for Indianapolis kids under 7 (does not include t-shirt). Register the day of and prices go a up a bit: $38 for ages 16 and up and $28 for ages 8 to 15. However, children under 7 are still free the day of.
The Humane Society of Indianapolis has been providing services to people and animals in Indianapolis and its surrounding counties. In addition, sheltering abandoned and stray animals and providing adoption services for loving families, the Humane Society of Indianapolis provides reinforcement behavior training for both adoptable animals and for owned animals through public training classes. The Humane Society of Indianapolis also provides outreach for the entire Indianapolis community.
