15th Annual Indianapolis Air Show Offers High Flying Fun

Raise your eyes to the sky for some high flying excitement at the 15th Annual Indianapolis Air Show May 13 to 15, 2011. The Blue Angels, one of the most sought after performance teams in the United States, headline this Indianapolis event. Plus, Friday May 13 is Monte Carlo Night at the Indianapolis Air Show, offering charity gambling, a silent auction, live music and good times all for a good cause. The Indianapolis Air Show features a range of entertainment in the air and on the ground over three days at the Indiana air field in Greenfield, Indiana. Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the gate for adults. Indianapolis kids ages 6 to 12 can get $4.00 tickets in advance and only pay $5.00 at the gate. Don’t miss this gravity defying Indianapolis event.

The Blue Angels are, of course, the main draw for this year’s Indianapolis Air Show. The U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration team is known for their awesome talent tricking airplanes in the sky. This extraordinary military team participates on the 100th anniversary of Naval Aviation. With a mission to enhance Navy and Marine Corps recruiting efforts and represent naval service in the United States, the Blue Angels are a respected part of the armed forces.

During their performance time, patrons of the Indianapolis Air Show will enjoy choreographed refinements of skills possessed by these naval aviators. Flying F-18 mere inches apart from each other while traveling up to speeds of 300 to 400 knots, these daring aviators are literally the best of the best in stunt flying.

In addition, demonstrations will be given by Viper West F-16 Demonstration Team, Billy Werth, Red Eagle Air Sports, FM-2 “Wildcat,” F4U “Corsair,” Dave Dacy and Tony Kazian, Jacquie B Airshows, Dan Buchanan, Heavy Metal Jet Team and others. These demonstrators pilot a variety of aircrafts from gliders to bi-planes. The shows will be announced by Indianapolis Air Show’s favorite voice, Rob Reider.

On the ground, peak inside some of the most impressive examples of air and space. Fighter planes include the PT-26 Cornell, the P-51D Mustang, the T-28 Trojan, the L-2 Grasshopper and others. Plus, enjoy a walk through the Kid Zone, a ride in a hot air balloon, conversation with Hoosier authors and aviators, radio controlled planes and more. This Indianapolis event offers multitudes of fun over the course of three days.

Enjoy a little luck at the Monte Carlo Casino night Friday, May 13 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM. Funds raised from this charity event will go to the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). This grant making organizations supports Indianapolis society through grants to Indianapolis not for profit organizations and charities, Indianapolis arts organizations and Indianapolis theatre.
