FREE Hard to Recycle Event at Building 71

We all want to do our part to help the environment and preserve the world for future generations. But in our industrial and technological society, there are many items that are difficult to recycle like computers and batteries. Disposal Alternatives Organization (DAO) offers a FREE Hard to Recycle Event, where Indianapolis businesses and Indianapolis people can recycle their items. Bring your difficult to recycle items to Building 71 Friday, May 13 from 7 AM to 2 PM and on Saturday, May 14 from 9 AM to 12 PM, and do your part to make the world a better place.

Disposal Alternatives Organization is a green not for profit organization in Indianapolis with a mission to promote recycling to protect the Earth. In addition, this noble company creates green jobs for people with major barriers to employment. An entirely self-sustaining organization, DAO maintains a fiscally conservative budget to balance out the losses on appliance pick-up programs (like this weekend) with profits from other recycled materials.
Founded in 2008, the original goal of this group still rests at the heart of its operation. DAO provides ethical appliance recycling options to Indy area residents, while giving a second chance to droves of unemployed people in the green industry. Supported entirely by selling recyclable materials they collect and separate and by refurbishing appliances and lawn equipment, this green program is truly self sustaining. It receives no government funding.

Support the work of Disposal Alternatives Organization this Friday and Saturday at Building 71. Bring computers, office equipment, appliances, glass, lawn tools, medical equipment, plastics, batteries, air conditioners, cardboard, bicycles, office machines, oil, metals, Styrofoam, wiring, cables, televisions and audio visual equipment. While this FREE event is intended to make recycling these hard to recycle items easier, there are a few items that will not be accepted including toxic chemicals, furniture, wood, paint and clothing.

After you lighten your load at this FREE Hard to Recycle Event in Indianapolis downtown, grab a bite to eat at any of these Indianapolis restaurants. Or unwind with drinks at any of these Indianapolis bars. Stay tuned to for all the latest on fun things to do in Indianapolis including Indianapolis arts, Indianapolis music, Indianapolis shopping and more. Get out in the Circle City and find some fun!
