Marsh Cookout on the Circle by Crossroads of America

Nothing says Summer like a good old fashion cookout with tasty burgers and pleasant company. Head to one of the biggest cookouts in Indianapolis this Thursday in Indianapolis downtown. Crossroads of America hosts the Marsh Cookout on the Circle on Monument Circle on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. This annual Indianapolis event supports the Scouting workership fund, which sends hundreds of deserving Scouts to local Scout camps for an adventure they will never forget. Bring enough cash to chow down on, and take pride in knowing that your lunch money is supporting a good cause.

Each year volunteer Boy Scouts and their troop leaders gather on Monument Circle to feed thousands of hungry Hoosiers. Many of the Scout volunteers on hand will benefit directly from the sales to finance their coming of age Summer through Boy Scout camps and Crossroads of America. With both corporate pre-sold tickets and walk-up tickets available, these Scouts make it easy for Indianapolis businesses and Indianapolis people alike to donate to a worthy cause.
On the menu this Thursday is a cookout feast for the ages: grilled chicken breast or bratwurst, potato salad, cookie and a drink. With all food donated by Marsh Supermarket, CEO of Marsh Supermarkets Frank Lazaran will be on hand to serve as the honorary chairman. He will speak to fundraiser goals to a VIP tent of more than 100 downtown and area business leaders, co hosted by the Indianapolis Mayor.

Purchase tickets in advance at the Scout Education and Program Center or local Marsh Supermarkets. Or show up on the day of the event with cash in hand. Consider buying a block of tickets for employees and coworkers, to boost sales for this annual Fundraiser.
With a mission to instill in young boys a thirst for knowledge, the Boy Scouts are more than a camping and outdoors club. Indianapolis kids who participate in Boy Scouts develop positive character traits, learn career development, become leaders and gain other life skills that help them make ethical choices and achieve their full potential. By participating in team building activities and individual challenges, Boy Scouts learn both camraderie and independence.

Help make this Summer the best ever for a few Boy Scouts. Head to Monument Circle and chow down on cookout favorites at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument. After work, get your happy hour on at any of these Indianapolis restaurants or Indianapolis bars. Stay tuned to FunCityFinder.com for all the latest on fun things to do in Indianapolis.
