Kenny Chesney returns to the Hoosier state this weekend with a concert at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. This American country super star is known for being one of the most award winning country music singers in the industry. This living country legend plans to rock out north of Indianapolis downtown on Friday, June 24, 2011. The Indianapolis music event begins at 7:00 pm. His 2011 Summer tour has visited a host of sold out venues. The Indianapolis event at the Verizon Wireless Music Center is expected to be the same.
Kenny Chesney is a good ole’ fashion southern boy from Knoxville, Tennessee. He got his start in the country music capitol of the world: Nashville, where he started playing a local clubs. He was first signed by Opryland Music Group in 1992, which led to a contract with Capricorn Records, on which he released his debut album In My Wildest Dreams in 1994. His first record landed him in the bottom of the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks charts, giving him the first taste of life in the country music industry.
Since then he has released 15 albums, all but one of which have been certified gold or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He has had thirty Top Ten Sings on the United States Billboard Hot Country Songs. Twenty of these have topped the charts. His music is characterized by a down home sensibility. A mix of folk, rock and pop and, of course country, Chesney thrills audiences with his fan-loving sensibility. A show man at heart, Chesney never disappoints fans.
Over the span of his nearly two decade long career, Chesney has taken home numerous awards and accolades. His talent has been recognized by the Academy of Country Music (ACM), the Country Music Association (CMA), American Music Awards (AMA), Country Music Television (CMT), Billboard Music Awards (BMA), the People’s Choice Awards (PCA) and the French Country Music Awards. He has received six Academy of Country Music awards including four consecutive Entertainer of the Year Awards from 2005 to 2008.
ecently, Chesney began to dabble in film making, as he produced and co-directed a short film for ESPN called “The Boys of Fall.” Based on his hit song of the same name, “The Boys of Fall” talks about playing high school football. Released on his latest album Hemingway’s Whiskey, the song is the lead off single for the record, which was released in September of 2010. The song hit number one on the Hot Country Songs chart less than a month later. It was Chesney’s eighteenth number one single.
Opening for Kenny Chesney all Summer long are Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker. Currington released his first album in 2003, and has topped the Billboard charts six times in his young career. Uncle Kracker is an American rock, country and rap rock musician. With an ever evolving musical perspective Uncle Kracker always brings something new to the stage.
