June 30, 1997 changed the world of children’s literature forever. When J.K. Rowling released her first novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, she unleashed an obsession on the world. Young and old readers alike eagerly turned pages to find out what happened next to “The Boy Who Lived.” Now more than a decade later, all seven books in the series have been published and the final film in the eight movie series is about to make its debut. Celebrate the end of an era as the second part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” hits the silver screen. Head to Half Baked Pottery in Broad Ripple Village for the Harry Pottery Party; this is your chance to create your own Potter pottery props. Reserve your spot now for the Thursday, July 14 party. Create your pottery from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm then head to the midnight showing of the final Harry Potter film.
The very first Harry Potter film premiered in 2001. When the cast of characters were illuminated for the first time on the big screen, the world fell in love. Seven books and eight movies later, the series reaches its conclusion. Acclaimed by critics around the world, the film series has been a staple of the movie industry for the first decade of the two-thousands. Celebrate the end of an era with fellow Harry Potter die-hards at Half Baked Pottery in Broad Ripple Village.
Enroll in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to make your preparations for the final part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Paint your very own Goblet of Fire, a Horcrux, a wizard or witches hat or your specially chosen wand. All witches and wizards are encouraged to wear their robes (or dress robes), but muggle attire is also acceptable.
