Country Summer Continues at Verizon: Rascal Flatts

Since Rascal Flatts made their debut in 2000, they have been on a non-stop adventure. In ten short years, they’ve risen to a level of country music stardom that most artists work decades to attain. Now its your time to see the band perform live. Catch Rascal Flatts with Sarah Evans, Justin Moore and Easton Corbin at the Verizon Wireless Music Center Saturday, July 23 at 7:00 pm. Tickets to this Indianapolis music event range from $35 to $95 with applicable fees.

Band members Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have had the decade of their lives. In ten shorts years, the band has set more venue attendance records than any other act. They have sold more then 20 million albums, earned 13 number one singles and are one of only four country acts to debut six consecutive albums at number one. They have also received nearly 40 awards from American Country Music, the Country Music Association, the American Music Association and the People’s Choice Awards. But the crowning achievement of their career thus far: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“We have had an unreal ten years,” shares Gary LeVox, “We’ve done things we couldn’t have been able to dream.”

As the top selling artists in 2006, Rascal Flatts takes pride in providing the soundtrack for many fans’ lives. “I’m humbled to think that the music we’ve been able to make has touched so many lives and moved so many people,” says Jay Demarcus. “The stories are just incredible and I think I’m most grateful for that.”

“To this day,” continues Joe Don Rooney, “we receive letters and e-mails about how a song like ‘I’m Moving On’ has impacted someone’s life in some way or how ‘Bless the Broken Road’ was played at their wedding… That’s powerful stuff, and that’s the reason we’re in the business, without question.”
Their latest album Nothing Like This continues to build on their new found country empire. In creating it, the band set out to share all the best parts of themselves. A parade through their talent, the album is uplifting, groovy, fresh, celebratory, romantic, modern and more. “We’ve reached back a little to what brought us here while moving forward at the same time,” says Demarcus. “We concentrated more on our vocals and chemistry again and not so much on big production.”

But more than the music and fame, the band prides themselves on being able to give back. Through their work with the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, they have raised more than three million dollars for sick kids. Demarcus notes, “That is definitely the thing I’m most proud of.”
