Events at Old National Centre
City and Colour – Canadian singer-songwriter, Dallas Green, is City and Colour. His repertoire of melodic acoustic folk music often features hot indie rock musicians from Canada. His alias comes from his own name Dallas, a city, and Green, a color. His debut album, Sometimes, was described as “dynamically gentle and vulnerable.” He followed it up with Bring Me Your Love, reached #11 on Billboards’ Heatseekers chart. Now this sexy and soulful folk singer performs in Indy live.
Dark Star Orchestra – Their fans know them as simply DSO. This tribute band to the Grateful Dead has found overwhelming success keeping the music of Jerry Garcia alive. Performing complete original set lists, song by song and in order, these guys are serious about paying tribute to their ideas. Members of the Grateful Dead themselves have even been known to perform on stage with DSO including Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and others. Hear Dark Star Orchestra live at the Murat Theater.
The Art of Love Featuring Jagged Edge – Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special concert from the smooth R&B band, Jagged Edge, at the Murat Theater in the Old National Centre. Head to Mass Ave for this soulful and sexy concert that is sure to get you in the mood for loving.
Ladies Nite Out Valentine Tour Starring: The Whispers and Howard Hewett – Since the 1960s, this R&B group has created a number of hot hits. Most notably, they hit #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart with the 1980s tune “And the Beat Goes On.” Other hits include “Rock Steady,” “Lady” and “It’s a Love Thing.” Hear them live with Howard Hewett, a gospel singer and lead vocalist of the R&B group Shalamar.
Cody Simpson – This fresh faced Australian pop singer became a YouTube sensation in 2009 with his versions of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, “Cry Me A River” and “Senoirita” by Justin Timberlake and “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5. Now he’s touring the world with his own hits including “iYiYi” and “Summertime.” See this cutie-patootie live at the Murat Theater.
Mord Fustang: Plasmapool Tour – This hip DJ brings arpeggios, wobbles, 1-up mushrooms and disco basslines to the stage. Playing electro house and dubstep, this quirky performer puts on a show you’re not going to want to miss.
Steve Aoki – Also known as Kid Millionaire, this electro house musician hails from California. He founded the Dim Mak Records label in 1996, releasing hot music from other electro house artists. His own debut album, “Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles,” was released in January 2008. His remixes of songs from Lenny Kravitz, Snoop Dogg, Drake and others are famous in clubs across the United States. Get your dance on with Steve Aoki at the Murat Theater.
Dropkick Murphys – This Irish-American punk rock band is ready to rock in Indy. After garnering two charting single in 2005, “Tessie” and “Boston Red Sox,” this group got their big break when their song “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” was featured in the Academy Award winning movie The Departed. With influences like The Clash and Sex Pistols, this punk band offers hard core entertainment.
Allstar Weekend – This pop rock band gained popularity after appearing on the Disney Channel. Their debut album Suddenly Yours peaked at 197 on the Billboard 200. Their second studio release was a drastic improvement, peaking at 49 on the Billboard 200. Your Indianapolis kids will love a trip to the Murat Theater to hear these teen heart-throbs play live.
A Night of “Grown and Sexy” with Joe and J. Holiday – They hit the top of the charts with their single “I Won’t Tell,” featured on Fat Joe’s album The Elephant in the Room. Now hear the pair break it down on stage at the Murat Theater in their “Night of Grown and Sexy.” You’re not going to want to miss this hot Indianapolis music event.
