An inter-galactic is coming to the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana. Voca People is a unique theatrical performance that combines modern beat box, a-cappella singing and other amazing vocal effects, such as guitars, trumpets and other instruments. The entire performance takes place without the aid of actual musical instruments, and is performed in a humoristic way that encourages audience participation. Voca People is one of the more imaginative live performances you’ll ever see in the way that it blends comedy and music, singing and harmony.
So who are the Voca People?
The Voca People are an alien race from Voca, a planet located somewhere behind the sun. Communication on Voca takes place exclusively through music and vocal expressions. The Vocans believe that music is life and life is music.
After a very long time travelling in space, their spaceship charger starts to run low on it’s primary source of energy, musical energy. A pit stop on Earth puts them face to face with Earthlings. After an awkward adjustment period, they being to learn the strange ways of these Earth inhabitants, and with a little help from the audience, find a way to energize their spaceship.
About the Show’s Creators
The show is the product of two very creative minds. Producer and artistic director, Lior Kalfo, is an award-winning comedian and creator originating from Israel, whose hit comedy series, “The Comedy Store” ran for an amazing 102 episodes in Israel, winning several awards, including The Golden Album” and “The European Golden Antenna” for best comedy series. Thirty-two year old Shai Fishman is the show’s composer, musical director and arranger. He lives in Los Angeles, Founder and CEO of Fish-i, Inc. and Fish-i Studios. He is a professional composer of music for film, theater, television and multimedia productions. He plays 7 Instruments, including bass guitar, drums, flute , French horn, piano, saxophone and trumpet. “The Voca People” YouTube video has received more than 5,000,000 views.
