For millions of Americans, motorcycling is the preferred mode of transportation, whether for riding to work or weekend recreation. But for a hardcore minority of motorcycle enthusiasts, only the thrill of extreme competition will do.
Expect two heat races and a consolation race in each class. Twenty riders will participate in each heat, possibly 21 depending on qualifying results. The other 22-23 riders will ride in the Last Chance Qualifier, a consolation race in which 250cc class participants ride 4 laps and 450cc class 450cc class ride 6. The top two will advance to the feature race where the 250cc class rides 15 laps and the 450cc class rides 20. The winner is awarded 25 championship points.
But this isn’t just AMA Supercross, it’s AMA Supercross in Lucas Oil Stadium, a world-class sporting venue by any standard. This impressive facility is home to the Indianapolis Colts and host to the NCAA Final Four, among other major events. The dirt track at Lucas Oil is widely considered among the best on the circuit, with its multiple 180-degree bowl turns, which are conducive to more passing opportunities compared to a track that features a 90-degree turn.
One popular event on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross circuit is the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC). The challenge showcases the minicycle skills of over 2,500 boys and girls from around the country and fosters a safe and supportive environment for both parents and kids.
Guests with Total Access Passes will have access to a Pit Party near the South side of the stadium one hour prior to the general public.
