Country superstar Tim McGraw is bringing his Two Lanes of Freedom 2013 tour to Indianapolis on Thursday, May 30 at the Klipsch Music Center. Indianapolis is one among 29 other cities that McGraw will visit before concluding his tour in September.
The set list spans 20 years of his career, and includes signature songs like “Where the Green Grass Grows,” “Everywhere,” “All I Want Is a Life,” “Just to See You Smile,” “She’s My Kind of Rain,” “The Cowboy in Me,” “Down on the Farm,” “Something Like That,” “Unbroken” and “Live Like You Were Dying.” He will also perform his latest hit, “Highway Don’t Care.”
McGraw has been somewhat experimental in recent times, collaborating with Southern rapper Pitbull and even incorporating Auto-Tune snippets into his music. But despite this, his music retains a traditional country twang, and other characteristic elements such as the fiddle and steel guitar.
The tour will also showcase some emerging talents in Brantley Gilbert and country duo Love and Theft. It’s amazing to think Tim McGraw has been at it for over 2 decades. But his star power still manages to command huge crowds—a testament to his artistry and showmanship.
McGraw will also continue the HomeFront program he started last year with Chase and Operation Homefront. The program is designed to assist military veterans and their families by offering mortgage-free homes. One home will be awarded to a deserving family at each of his 31 tour stops.
McGraw recently said of the program, “Launching our HomeFront program made last summer so much more special than I could have originally imagined. I can honestly say that I got as much – or more – out of the experience than the veterans who received the new homes and assistance. These families made an incredible mark on me, and I’m more grateful than I’ve ever been for the sacrifices they make every day to serve our country. I’m just honored to be a part of this program, and I look forward to working with Chase and Operation Homefront to take it even further this summer.”
