The Little Flower Parish will host the Little Flower Parish Festival from May 31 to June 2. This annual festival has taken place for over 10 years, and offers a little something for folks of all ages. A $5,000 raffle prize will be awarded to one lucky guest. There will be fun rides, poker tournaments, a beer wagon, rummage sale and tons of great traditional recipes, such as pulled pork, mac and cheese, green beans, Steer-In-Beef & Noodles, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy.
A kids area will keep your little ones occupied with plenty of fun games and prizes.
Several bands will perform in the entertainment tent, including No Drama, Art Adams Band, Scecina Rock Bank. In addition to live music, there will be live juggling by Paul Grim. The WFMS Friends and Neighbors Van will be on-site, and there will be a photo booth courtesy of Indiana Photo Booth Co.
A silent auction will be held in which goods donated by local businesses will be up for bid.
The Little Flower Parish has come a long ways since its founding 85 years ago. Back then, the land near 14th Street and Bosart Avenue was either being cultivated or grazed upon by local livestock. Bishop Chartrand announced the formation of Little Flower Catholic Church on March 13, 1925.
The Parish has undergone a series of renovations in recent years, including a new brick exterior and several interior renovations. Through generous donations and careful management it has managed to stay on a solid footing despite a downturned economy. The Little Flower Parish Festival is just one way of generating funds needed for continued operation.
