It doesn’t get more American than Independence Day with baseball and fireworks.
The Indianapolis Indians will hold a special Independence Day celebration at Victory Field on July, 4 complete with fireworks. The gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 6:05 p.m.
The Indians will give away free rally towels all throughout the game as they face the division rival Louisville Bats. Players will wear special stars and stripes jerseys will be worn for the game, and there will be a fireworks show after the game has concluded.
The special stars and stripes jerseys will be up for bid, and the proceeds will go to the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund, a financial assistance program designed to help the families of Indiana soldiers who have gone through tough times as a result of having been mobilized for deployments.
After the game, fans will be treated to a fireworks display in Victory Field. As an added bonus, the city’s own fireworks display will light up the downtown Indianapolis skies, a spectacle that will be plainly visible from the comfort of Victory Field seat.
The Indianapolis fireworks display is scheduled 10:00 p.m., while the Indians’ display is set to take place between the end of the game and the city’s display.
