Summer is most definitely upon us, which means it is once again time to enjoy movies under the stars with friends and family at the Indiana Museum of Art’s amazing outdoor amphitheater. Tonight’s feature presentation is “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” is has become as iconic as it is classic. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie debuted in 1981 and went on to become one of the greatest selling motion pictures of all time. Harrison Ford delivers a superb performance as Indiana Jones.
The National Bank of Indianapolis Summer Nights Film Series takes place from June 7 to August 30. The 2013 series began on June 7 and featured the 1959 classic “Pillow Talk.”
Since the series began in 1976, the IMS has hosted over 300 movie screenings in practically every genre, including action, comedy, horror, musicals, romance and sci-fi. Watching a movie in an enclosed cinema is something you can do any time of year. Watching a move under the stars is a distinctly summer pass-time.
The amphitheater is situated on the west side of the museum and faces The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park.
