Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby have reunited and are hitting the road for tour, the first performance of which will take place at the Palladium in Carmel’s Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 7:30pm.
The tour is in support of a live album, ‘Cluck Ol’ Hen,’ which was recently recorded in August.
Hornsby and Skaggs are no strangers to each other. The two are longtime friends and have collaborated several times, the most notable of which occurred 6 years ago in a Sony release.
Ricky Skaggs is a bluegrass legend and 14-time Grammy winning recording artist who struck his first chords on a mandolin over 5 decades ago. He is a “recognized master” of his art and one of the most successful mainstream country artists of his generation.
Twenty six years after winning a Best New Artist Grammy, Bruce Hornsby is still finding new ways to grow as an artist. Other industry awards include Best Bluegrass Recording Grammy in 1990, and the Best Pop Instrumental Grammy in 1993.
The ensemble will feature mandolin, guitar, bass, fiddle and banjo. Performances will include Hornsby originals, re-worked as bluegrass songs, in addition to several traditional songs and original compositions.
