This year marks the 12th anniversary of Mass Ave Midnight Shopper, an annual event in which stores along Mass Ave keep their doors open until midnight for your shopping enjoyment.
Around 15 shops will participate in the 2013 edition of Mass Ave Midnight Shopper, including The Best Chocolate in Town, Homespun, Arts A Poppin, Bommerang BTQ, Crimson Tate, The Flying Cupcake, Nurture, SubZero, Three Dog Bakery, Silver in the City, Sage, Mass Ave Toys, Handmade Promenade, Global Gifts, and Indy Reads Books.
In addition to being a fun event, Mass Ave Midnight Shopper is also helps support the worthy cause of feeding the hungry. Ten percent of all sales from this year’s even will go to Second Helpings, a local organization that rescues already-prepared food and perishable food that would otherwise go to waste by local restaurants, and redistributes that food to local service agencies that feed people in need.
And the good news for parents of young kids (ages 6 months thru 12) is that the YMCA at the Anthenaeum will offers childcare from 5-9pm. YMCA members will pay just $22 for the first child, and $10 for each additional child, while non-members will pay $37 for the first child, and $15 for each additional child. Kids will enjoy a snack, a movie and arts & crafts.
Why wait for Black Friday? Good question.
