Farm to Fork: Indiana’s Only Chemical-Free Farmers Market

farm to forkfarm to forkIn the Traders Point area of Indianapolis, set back from the road and hidden between silos and barns you’ll find the wonderful Farm to Fork Farmers Market bustling with locals. Residing on the property owned by Normandy Farms, this quaint little market founded by Maria Smietana (the Market Master) is the only chemical-free farmers market in Indiana. Many of the vendors are certified organic or naturally grown and the products are made with your health in mind–forgoing the use of GMOs and artificial chemical inputs.

Maria explains that the market has generated a loyal customer base because the consumer doesn’t have to worry about any of the products that are for sale. At some farmers markets you can’t always trust that what you are paying for is actually organic or chemical-free. In order to sell at Farm to Fork, vendors have to be inspected and meet certain qualifications in order to set-up shop and this provides a worry-free atmosphere for customers.

The market is also producer only, meaning any product you buy is coming from the person who actually grew or prepared it. All vendors produce what they sell.dog treats
