The Indianapolis theatre scene is rich with a number of professional and community theatres to give patrons a choice of offerings that run the gamut from classic to musical to avant garde. Of course, many of those actors got their training in college theatre programs. One such program at the University of Indianapolis is set to debut their latest stage production and is offering a free preview on Thursday, February 20.
The show, “The Fox on the Fairway,” combines physical comedy, romance, and — believe it or not — golf. The play is about a love affair between two country club employees, hired hand Justin ( played by senior Ross Percell) and waitress Louise (brought to life by sophomore Ellie Delap). Their antics take place during a golf tournament at the snooty club.
The free preview of the show begins at 8:00pm on February 20 in the Schwitzer Student Center dining room on the southside campus.
Regular performances will be offered as a dinner theatre on Feb. 21-23, Feb. 28 and March 1. Tickets, only available in advance, are $26 for general audiences; $24 for seniors, groups and non-UIndy students with ID; and just $14 for UIndy students, faculty and staff.
