Spring Broadway Season in Indianapolis Begins in March

Spring Broadway Season in IndianapolisThe 2013-2014 Broadway season in Indianapolis resumes next month, when Ghost the Musical opens in Indianapolis on Tuesday, March 4th. There has been a long break in this Broadway season, with no shows since Wicked in November.

Wicked was beautifully done, and I had an amazing evening with my mom, sisters, and my teen daughter. I can’t wait to take my sister to Ghost next week, and the rest of my kids will get their evening at the theatre as the spring season continues, with four more shows to finish out the 2013-2014 Broadway season in Indianapolis.

For the next four months, a different national production will make its way through Indianapolis theatres, either Murat Theatre at Old National Centre or Clowes Memorial Hall on Butler campus, presented in Indianapolis by Broadway Across America.

The national tour of Ghost the Musical, based on the Oscar-winning film, will play at Murat Theatre at Old National Centre from March 4th to March 9th. Tickets are on sale now and start at just $28.

Memphis, the Tony Award-winning musical about the birth of rock ‘n’ roll, will play at Clowes Memorial Hall April 1-6. This show will be my tween son’s first foray into Broadway theatre.

Clowes Memorial Hall will also play host to Addams Family, a new comedy musical, May 13–18, when my youngest daughter is looking forward to her turn at the theatre. This macabre comedy seems like the perfect choice for my Halloween-loving 8-year-old.

The wildly popular Book of Mormon (from the creators of South Park) will close out the 2013-2014 Broadway season in Indianapolis, playing June 17–22 at Murat Theatre. I am hoping to score tickets to this one for a real and actual date night with my husband, but it looks like they’re selling fast.

Tickets for all four shows are on sale now, both online and at the theatre box office. For more information, including photo sneak peeks of each musical production, please visit Broadway in Indianapolis.
