Hailing from Beech Grove, Indiana, Brandon Whyde first started his music career as a solo artist playing at local venues such as Radio Radio and the Royal Theater in Danville, Indiana. Though a self-proclaimed introvert, you wouldn’t be able to tell when he’s on stage. When Brandon is performing he commands the attention of his listeners and channels his fears into a passionate intensity.
As he continued to develop his gravely folk rock and soul sound, Brandon joined up with Chris Weller, upright bass player, and Benji Ballard, percussion, to form the band Brandon Whyde & the Devils Keep. Separate they are amazing musicians, but when you put the three together they are a force to be reckoned with. Though their album doesn’t come out until next month, the band recently teamed up with Story House Media to create a music video for their song “Gun to my Heart.”
Joined by another local musician, Landon Keller, the four lead the listener on a gritty musical journey and the accompanying video is designed so the viewer can use his or her imagination as regards to the story taking place. There is so much potential and promise ahead for Brandon Whyde & the Devils Keep so keep your eye out for future shows they’ll be playing in Indy.
