You know the feeling. Get the kids to 3 different places at the same time. Finish up that big report for the boss. Spin your wheels figuring out what’s for dinner and trying to remember if you turned the iron off before you left the house. Soon, the stress builds up so that you can feel it in your neck and shoulders and maybe even across your forehead. You need some relief and New Day Craft (formerly New Day Meadery) has just what you need.
Visit the New Day Craft Tasting Room in the Fountain Square Cultural District of Indianapolis for Mead & Knead. Offered every Wednesday from 6:00 – 9:00pm, $10 gets you a 10-minute chair massage and a glass of craft mead or cider of your choice. I recommend the Johnny Chapman for its sweet cider taste.
There is no real protocol for how Mead & Knead works. I suggest sipping a bit of your craft beverage, then taking a seat for your chair massage. Follow the “knead” with the remainder of your mead (or cider).
Of course, you are always welcome to step to the tasting table to try other craft varieties after your first drink. A flight of 6 tastings will give your palette a nice range of flavors. I enjoyed all of them with the exception of the Breakfast Magpie (back row, right in the picture below). I’m not a coffee drinker and the Magpie had a definite coffee taste.
And if you’re really in need of some relaxation, try the “Go with the Flow” craft beverage and yoga class offered on the first and second Thursday of each month from 6:00 – 7:00pm. BYOYM: Bring your own yoga mat.
New Day Craft is located at 1102 Prospect Street.
